Life & Style PDA of Gwen and Gavin

Synchronized step with both of their pelvises angled in slightly. Terrific mutual hand hold where they both lift each other up, and something you rarely see, though they are walking, both have their heads turned significantly to "admiration" position, so they are looking at each other equally with love. Chins up in happiness. I rate them Five out of Five

Body Language of Olivia Wilde and Jason Sudeikis in Life & Style

Everything about their body language in this photo makes you smile. Jason is leaning in at 3:00 position with his shoulder.  A  shoulder lean that indicates this woman I feel totally relaxed being around. Though he seems to be blocking her getting in to close with his elbow he is actually using his right arm and curled to hold fingers to do a symbolic reach across his pelvis towards her across his pelvis. That combination says if there were not people around I would be doing more.  The eye contact and mutual smile they are giving the photographers show they want to be seen as a happy couple together. Olivia's head tilt and resting on him, and chin down eyes and smile up are so unusually coy and sweet.  Showing Jason makes her feel safe being a playful little girl with him and combined with her head resting on his shoulder and her lean in and hand around him to show she is smitten.  He is more into her at an athletic event than I typically see men be with their sweeties and if his arm was slightly different I would give them a five, but with that block I would give it a four.

Body Language Read of Kate Bosworth and New Husband Michael Polish

Love that he is actually going backwards a bit to look at and hold onto Kate.  His head tilt and their mutual eye contact, even through sunglasses, says they are so into each other. I love that she reaches up and over his shoulders. That tells me she wants everyone to know he belongs to her. His arm is around her in support.  Nice smile!  I give them a 5 out of five.

Body Language of Kiss Between Simon Cowell and Lauren Silverman

It’s all about sex and assertiveness for Simon. Notice that he juts his head and leans the top half of his body assertively forward to kiss her but does not use his forward hand and arm to touch her nor tilt his head to show tenderness. Just a "She's mine" fast ownership kiss.  The hand  that is showing is actually held fist like.

Lauren feels brought down and fearful of Simon. Lauren Silverman doesn't lean into the kiss and her whole body is actually held down in protection. Lauren is leaning back and holds her shoulders drooping down. Lauren's arms are folded and hands locked in log cabin cross protectively over her belly arms and hands down.

Jason Dufner, What does Dufnering mean? A body language read of Dufner

A client at Exxon asked me what I thought about Jason Dufner’s checked out facial
expression and the new term for this the emotional state or should I say anti-emotional
state of “Dufnering.”

As a body language expert I say, “Hurray there is a name for the expression I see on most of the people waiting for late flights out of Atlanta airport.  Many of you have heard me talk about down vs. up body language I think this is the perfect photo for down!  Look at his shoulders and chest and the downward pull of his mouth. If you took on this expression and posture right now research on the mind body connection indicates that you would feel as checked out as Dufner.

Brad and Angelina's PDA - What it Reveals

Patti shared her insights with Life & Style on the PDA of Brad and Angelina recently while they were in Japan.  Patti commented that Angelina's eyes were focused on Brad, and her body is completely open toward him.  Angelina is saying with her body language that she loves him and it is all about him.  Also, Brad is "sharing" his cheek, leaning it toward Angelina.  He is happily receiving her love.

How to Spot a Liar

Patti was interviewed on HLN about how to tell when someone is lying.  Watch the HLN interview at the link below and check out Patti's 6 tips below!

http://www.hlntv.com/video/2013/08/13/body-language-indicates-lie

So, you’ve got a funny feeling about the guy or gal you’re dating. Or you don’t think your boss is leveling with you.

How can you tell if they are lying? Here are some tips from body language expert Patti Wood.
  1. Trust your gut: You may know they are lying to you before you are even aware of it. Encountering a lie can provoke a stress response in most of us – the old flight or fight feeling. If something doesn’t quite sound right, and you feel as though they aren’t being straight with you, you may be right.
  2. Interrupt the story: A practiced liar will have their story down pat. They’ll have the details down, in order of what happened. But you can trip them up by interrupting, or asking questions in reverse order of how events happened. If you can throw them off, they may stumble over their story, and you can confirm they aren’t being honest.
  3. Pay attention to body language: If you know how someone normally acts, and they are acting differently, that may be a sign that he or she is lying. Say you have a friend who is naturally fidgety. If they are moving around a lot like they normally do, it may not be a sign they are lying. But the person who usually sits there quietly, still as a statue, and then can’t seem to sit still… that could be an indication of deceit.
  4. Oddball reaction: If you ask a question and someone gets angry, or annoyed, or hysterical, in a way that doesn’t fit your conversation… you may have stumbled onto a lie. People can act out to distract us from their deceit. Anger is always a useful device. A liar can turn on the fury, unload on you, and shame you into not asking the kinds of questions that might expose their lie. Watch for a reaction that seems totally out of proportion to your question. That may be a clue.
  5. Unusual language: Is someone talking to you in a stilted way, avoiding contractions, saying “I did not…” instead of “I didn’t.” Any kind of odd sentence could be a hint that someone is lying. For example, someone telling the truth won’t say over and over again “I did not do _____.” They will say “I didn’t do it” and leave it at that.
  6. Reassuring touches: When we are nervous, our nerve endings can start firing, and we can start to touch facial features that we might ordinarily leave alone. Such as our nose, the top of our lip, and the edge of the ear. Again, this clue depends on timing and knowing how the person behaves normally. If they never touch their nose, then suddenly can’t seem to stop touching it, that could be a sign they are lying.

Revealing Body Language of Jason Sudeikis and Olivia Wilde

During a recent night out in NYC's Meatpacking District, Jason Sudeikis, 37, just couldn't resist pulling in his fiancee Olivia Wilde, 29, for a sweet kiss. Patti shared with Life & Style, "They are toe to toe," observes Wood, "their pelvises are touching and their hearts are centered on each other. It shows equal affection. And I just love the way he wraps his arms around her and draws her in close. They are non-verbally telling each other that they want to merge into one."

Zayn Malik & Perrie Edwards’ PDA: They Have ‘Love & Respect’

Patti Wood, author of Snap! Making The Most of First Impressions, adds that “Perrie is really calm in these photos. She looks happy and centered.”
What I love is that he is taking the lead; he is coming forward the right way. He is looking at her hand, looking at the ring.  Her cheeks are lifted, showing extreme happiness. They are both connected and happy in that moment. If you look down at the hand, it looks like he is coming up and lifting it. That in combination with stepping forward shows he can support her.
